Professional accounting accreditation (such as actively pursuing ACCA, CAT, or CPA foundations) is a plus. AP & AR Operations: 1–2 years of practical experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, vendor invoice verification, client billing, and credit control follow-ups. Invoice Matching & Financial Checks: Hands-on experience executing 3-way matching (Purchase Orders, Delivery Orders, and Invoices), identifying billing variances, and auditing expense receipts for compliance. Accounting Systems & Software: Hands-on experience using modern accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, SAP, Oracle Net Suite, SQL Account, or Auto Count). Spreadsheet Proficiency & Reporting: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and data validation) to compile aging reports, expense tracking sheets, and payment schedules. General Ledger & Month-End Support: Basic understanding of general ledger maintenance, posting routine journal entries (accruals, prepayments, depreciation), and assisting with trial balance preparations. Tax & Regulatory Awareness: Working knowledge of local tax regulations (e.g., Sales & Service Tax / VAT / GST withholding), corporate compliance rules, and standard tax invoicing requirements. Data Privacy & Confidentiality: Absolute ethical integrity, strict confidentiality, and adherence to corporate governance guidelines when handling sensitive financial records and banking details. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively between internal department leads, external clients, vendors, and banking institutions.
