Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Fleet & Transport Manager to manage and optimize a fleet of 50+ heavy-duty trailer trucks (70-ton capacity) operating from our quarries in Tawyeen and Thouban, primarily transporting aggregates to Saqr Port and Dibba Port.

The key objective of this role is to maximize the utilization and productivity of company-owned trucks, minimize dependence on external/taxi trucks, and achieve optimum transportation volume at the lowest practical operating cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operation and performance of the company's heavy truck fleet and drivers.

• Maximize truck utilization, trips per truck and tonnage transported from all quarry sites to the ports.

• Plan and coordinate daily transportation requirements with Sales, Production, Quarry and Port/Logistics teams.

• Minimize dependence on external/taxi trucks through effective planning and utilization of the company's own fleet.

• Monitor and improve fuel efficiency, truck availability, driver productivity, maintenance cost and tyre utilization.

• Coordinate with the Maintenance team to minimize breakdowns and vehicle downtime.

• Monitor routes, traffic conditions, no-entry timings, loading/unloading and turnaround time to improve trip efficiency.

• Manage and monitor driver performance, attendance, safety, accidents, traffic fines and vehicle operating practices.

• Conduct driver training and implement initiatives for fuel-efficient, safe and responsible driving.

• Review the existing driver incentive scheme and recommend improvements to increase productivity and trips while maintaining safety and cost efficiency.

• Analyze fleet operating costs and recommend measures to reduce cost per trip and cost per ton.

• Manage Transport Supervisors and ensure effective coordination between drivers and operational departments.

• Prepare regular MIS/KPI reports covering fleet utilization, tonnage, trips, fuel, maintenance, tyres, downtime, external trucks and overall transportation costs.

• Prepare and monitor the annual budget for the Transport Division.

• Attend management meetings and provide operational analysis, recommendations and improvement plans.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase the volume and profitability of the transport operation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or related field. An MBA will be added advantage.

• 8+ years of relevant experience in fleet/transport management, preferably in quarry, mining, aggregate, cement, construction materials or heavy haulage.

• Proven experience managing a large fleet of heavy trucks and drivers.

• Strong knowledge of fleet utilization, fuel management, maintenance, tyres and transport costing.

• Strong analytical, planning, leadership and communication skills.

• Good knowledge of UAE roads, traffic regulations and route restrictions will be an advantage.

• Good knowledge of MS Excel, MIS and fleet performance reporting.
