Responsible for tyre fitting, wheel balancing, puncture repairs, and rim repair services. The technician must ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining high-quality workshop standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove and install tyres on different types of vehicles.

• Perform wheel balancing using computerized balancing equipment.

• Identify and correct wheel vibration and balancing issues.

• Repair tyre punctures according to proper repair procedures.

• Inspect tyres for damage, uneven wear, cracks, and other safety concerns.

• Check tyre pressure and adjust according to vehicle specifications.

• Inspect rims for bends, cracks, deformation, and other damage.

• Perform rim straightening and repair where applicable.

• Carry out rim welding and minor refurbishment when qualified and required.

• Check repaired rims for correct alignment and balance before installation.

• Properly tighten wheel nuts/bolts according to manufacturer specifications.

• Operate tyre changers, wheel balancers, rim repair machines, air compressors, and related workshop equipment.

• Maintain tools, machines, and the tyre service area in good working condition.

• Inform the supervisor of any additional tyre, rim, suspension, or wheel-related issues identified during inspection.

• Complete assigned jobs efficiently while maintaining workmanship quality.

• Follow workshop procedures and protect customer vehicles from damage during service.
