Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute the procurement strategy for seafood products, aligning it with the company's goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess their compliance with quality and sustainability standards.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed decisions regarding procurement strategies.
2. Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select seafood suppliers based on their quality, reliability, pricing, and ability to meet delivery schedules.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaborative partnerships and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
3. Purchase Order Management:
- Generate purchase orders based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Monitor and track the status of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of seafood products.
- Resolve any discrepancies, delays, or quality issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain strict quality control standards for seafood products.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, sustainability practices, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Address any quality or compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze procurement data, such as supplier performance, pricing trends, and market conditions, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- - Prepare regular reports and presentations on procurement activities, highlighting key metrics, achievements, and challenges.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, with a focus on seafood procurement, preferably within the food industry.
- Deep knowledge of the seafood industry, including species, sourcing regions, quality standards, and sustainability practices.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for purchase order management and data analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
