The MEP Manager oversees the planning, design, and implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects. This role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring project compliance with standards and regulations, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating with other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:
  • Lead and manage MEP aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate MEP systems with overall project design.
  1. Design and Planning:
  • Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes.
  • Implement sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of MEP engineers, drafters, and technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes for MEP systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work complies with design, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Select and manage MEP subcontractors and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Address and resolve any MEP-related project challenges or conflicts.
  1. Client Relations:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP systems.
  • Present technical solutions and progress updates to clients.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) is advantageous.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering and project management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools.
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA).
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy-efficient technologies.
