Senior Mechanical Engineer with an MEP construction background and 12- 15 years’ experience in UAE.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. To lead a project from inception through to the construction and handover phase, including preparing drawings, BIM models, specifications, tender and construction information, monitoring works in production and dealing with clients, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.
2. Oversee a junior mechanical engineer and a mechanical Supervisors
3. Advise the project manager of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, quality and the like.
4. Continually review the Main contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works.
5. Prepare /Review installation method statements.
6. Review shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to project manager with appropriate comments / approval.
7. Review mechanical shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering co-ordination and advise project manager accordingly
8. Problem resolution, in advance of impact on the works and interface with other departments in the Construction Management Team.
9. Attending project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
10. Prepare/ Review mechanical services material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Project Manager on the appropriateness of the proposals.
11. Manages, expedites, and supports consultants’ and construction document submittals, budgets, and schedules.
12. Coordinates with the MEP Construction manager, Project Manager and Superintendent/Foreman to optimize allocation of manpower, material and equipment for assigned projects.
13. Responsible for the timely delivery of required site forms including all Material delivery notes (with authorized signature and ID number), Master Labor Card, and Daily Activity Report and other information as required for Projects Control.
14. Coordinates with procurement team to order material and equipment as needed.
15. Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the mechanical services works for adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant’s specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.
16. Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
17. Undertake prior review of mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule
18. Witness on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing and other testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise the Project Manager accordingly.
19. On a spot basis Coordinate/ witness mechanical system final testing and commissioning.
20. Prepare an on-going list of mechanical services defects for remedial action.
21. Undertake final project snagging and prepare list of defects for action.
Working Experience & Skills & Qualifications
· BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical l Engineering
· High level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems.
· Good oral communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of people, including clients, contractors, designers, and consultants.
· Precise and concise written communication skills
· The ability to work well within a team.
· The ability to work under pressure.
· Organizational skills, such as time and resource planning.
· Work experience in related field of 12-15 years.
Salary and Other benefits
· 12-15k AED per month (All inclusive)
