Position Overview:

• The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations related to our construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting practices, financial reporting, budgeting, and project cost management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting within the construction industry and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and financial reporting
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software
• Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and project cost management
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Cost Accounting: Manage and monitor project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure accurate tracking of project expenses and revenues.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget adherence and provide insights into cost control measures.
• Contract Management: Review and analyze construction contracts and subcontractor agreements to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Reconciliation and Audit: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including project-related accounts. Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow for construction projects, including managing accounts payable and receivable. Ensure timely payments and accurate invoicing.
• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting principles, standards, and regulations specific to the construction industry.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to provide financial insights and support project objectives.
