Position Title: QC Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Overview:
The QC Manager is responsible for developing and leading a quality team to ensure that all products, including pressure vessels, skid packages, boilers and structural steel fabrication meet required quality standards and regulatory certifications (ASME U and NR certifications). Additionally, the role includes adherence to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards to ensure compliance and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance Management:
- Develop and implement quality control policies and procedures for manufacturing processes, including structural steel fabrication.
- Ensure compliance with ASME U and NR certification requirements throughout production.
- Conduct regular audits of processes, procedures, and products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
2. ISO Certification Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001, and ISO 45001 quality management systems.
- Prepare documentation and ensure readiness for ISO certification audits and renewals.
- Coordinate training and awareness programs for employees related to ISO standards.
3. Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a quality team consisting of up to two quality control specialists.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the quality team.
- Assign specific roles and responsibilities for team members to ensure coverage of all quality-related tasks.
4. Inspection and Testing:
- Establish and maintain inspection criteria for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products, including structural steel.
- Supervise testing processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, testing results, and compliance audits.
- Prepare quality performance reports for management review and decision-making.
- Ensure proper documentation for all quality-related activities in compliance with ASME and ISO standards.
6. Supplier Quality Management:
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their ability to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and enhance product quality.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for defects or non-conformances.
8. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to pressure vessel manufacturing, safety, and environmental management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, specifically in pressure vessel, skid package, and boiler manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME U and NR certification processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
