We are actively seeking a seasoned and results-oriented General Manager to oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations and profitability of UNIMED which includes the pharmaceutical, retail pharmacies, and the medical equipment and consumables division.. This is a senior leadership role that demands a proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, meet financial business metrics and leading a high-performing team to achieve business goals. The ideal candidate must be on a similar executive role with background in distribution/trade of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment. The GM will work closely with the Group senior management team to implement business strategies, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role demands strong leadership, business acumen, and industry expertise to drive growth and maintain a competitive edge in the Pharma & healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
UNIMED General Manager responsibilities span a wide range of areas, from ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, driving business growth, overseeing the division’s operations, managing teams, optimizing supply chains and building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
Lead Unimed’s commercial strategy and oversee its commercial performance. Develop and implement long-term business strategies to leverage multithread commercial engagements to optimize revenue, achieve sustainable profitability and accelerate growth of the company.
Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the pharmaceutical division, retail pharmacy chains, and the medical equipment and consumables division.
Identify market opportunities and lead business development initiatives to expand market share in all three divisions.
Oversee the daily operations and drive operational excellence ensuring compliance to regulatory standards, smooth function across departments and delivery of Unimed’s high quality standards from procurement to distribution.
Oversee the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and implement strategies generating revenue streams for Unimed.
Establish Unimed strategic direction and business planning, delivering long-term value as a profitable and sustainable pharmaceutical provider and distributor.
Develop strategic partnership and build relationship with peer pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Ensure that all business activities comply with industry regulations, including pharmaceutical standards, healthcare laws, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Pharmacy, Business Administration or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
- 10-15 years’ experience in similar executive role and leading Pharmaceutical, Medical Equipment and Consumables sales and distribution
- Strong business and financial acumen
- In-depth experience in pharmaceutical operations with commercial excellence
- Experience in dealing with executive-level management, regulatorts and client engagement within a diverse customer organization
