Market Analysis:
Collaborate closely with the Analytics team to conduct thorough market research, identifying trends, supply and demand dynamics, and price movements in the specific sector.
Monitor global market conditions, including weather patterns, crop reports, and geopolitical events that may impact supply and demand.
Maintain access to all key trade agreements, restrictions, and duty structures of the main origination countries.
Trading Activities:
Negotiate and execute origination transactions for various types of commodities, ensuring adherence to approved quality and specifications.
Develop and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, traders, and brokers for all products both at origin and locally.
Identify value chain opportunities where you can capture additional value.
Risk Management:
Assess and manage risks associated with origination activities, including price volatility, counterparty risk, and supply chain disruption risks.
Implement origination strategies in cooperation with the analytics team to mitigate risks.
Planning, Logistics, and Operations:
Coordinate with Planning teams to ensure the timely delivery of commodities.
Manage inventory levels and storage arrangements to meet Operational Units’ commitments and requirements.
Collaborate closely with different business units and leadership teams to develop and execute strategies to grow the business.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field.
Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in the commodities specifically Grains ! Nuts ! Pulses ! soft oils
Proven track record of successful origination (or trading) and relationship management.
