Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement & Analysis: Identify and recommend improvements in financial and operational processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance. Analyze current processes and suggest refinements.
  • Audit Planning, Execution & Evaluation: Lead and conduct external audits, finance reviews, and internal audits to ensure financial, operational, and compliance objectives are met. Regularly evaluate audit activities and demonstrate their value to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Work closely with departments across the organization to ensure compliance and reporting standards are met.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Analyze financial data, assess risks, and ensure adherence to international accounting standards and regulations. Engage in special projects like fraud detection and efficiency audits.
  • Due Diligence & Financial Analysis: Conduct due diligence on financial statements for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Provide strategic financial analysis to support key business decisions.
  • Reporting & Monitoring: Report control weaknesses and operational deficiencies to management, suggest corrective actions, and monitor the implementation of follow-ups.
  • Documentation & Process Improvement: Develop high-quality documents such as policies, SOPs, process flow charts, and reports for various audiences. Stay up to date with industry best practices and ensure continuous professional development.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive experience in managing external audits with a Big 4 firm.
  • Proven ability to lead internal audits and develop audit policies.
  • Skilled in data research and analysis, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit practices in the commodities trading industry.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Interpersonal & Managerial Skills:
  • Strong relationship management skills, with experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Organized with great attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Skilled in negotiation and building trust.
  • Education & Qualifications:
  • Professional qualifications (Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIA, CISA).
  • University degree in Accountancy.
  • Hands-on knowledge of IFRS and SAP/S4Hana.
  • 8+ years of external audit experience, preferably in commodities trading.
