Key Responsibilities:

• Lead/Manage CAD staff, assign tasks to individuals, be responsible for Projects’ CAD deliverables, and conducting day-to-day output of CAD production.
• Work closely with BIM Manager, Design Manager, Design Director to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
• Provide overall direction of BIM activities of CAD/BIM team in assigned areas including BIM implementation, integration, maintenance, training, design interface, quality and identification of potential liabilities and/or concerns.
• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.
• Develop and maintain CAD object (2D & 3D) library following Company’s standards.
• Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.
• Train and supervise CAD group in core application skills and standards.
• Lead and audit project information models and drawings to ensure CAD group working in line with CAD/BIM standards in CDE environment.
• Develop budget, short and long-term CAD resource plans and overall program for CAD group.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills and Prior Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years of experience managing CAD production in an engineering consultancy, especially in major roads and infrastructure projects. This includes establishing proper structures, policies and procedures for the CAD group.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of CAD packages, predominantly AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley Microstation, Navisworks; BIM360 and BIM standards such as ISO19650 and BS/PAS1192; ProjectWise CDE and Aconex.
• Familiar with conducting project related model reviews.
• Excellent English communication skills, oral and written.
• Ability to produce spreadsheets using MS Excel to evaluate performance of people, technology, systems, standards, processes and expectations for CAD production timelines.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines. Ability to work effectively in a team but also able to work on own initiative.
• Confident communicator with all levels of personnel.
• Excellent organizational skill to maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.
