KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Monitor and coordinate daily tanker operations, including voyage instructions, port clearances, cargo handling, and bunker management.
- Along with Chartering, act as the primary point of contact between vessel masters, port agents, charterers, and other third parties, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.
- Assist with voyage planning, including route selection, fuel consumption monitoring, and optimizing vessel speed for operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Appoint the necessary port agency, bunker supplier, or other related vendors.
- Ensure that vessels operate in compliance with international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISGOTT) and company policies. Work closely with the safety team to ensure environmental and safety standards are met.
- Oversee and coordinate the loading and discharging of cargo, ensuring correct documentation and adherence to charter party agreements.
Skills
- Monitor fuel levels and arrange bunkering operations in line with voyage requirements and fuel efficiency strategies.
- Assist in responding to any operational incidents, ensuring proper reporting and corrective actions are taken. Liaise with P&I clubs and insurers when necessary.
- Prepare and review operational reports, including post-voyage analyses, ensuring accurate and timely documentation for stakeholders.
- Maintain close communication with ship captains, charterers, agents, and brokers to address operational issues and find solutions promptly.
