Menswear Buyer – Brands
Location: Dubai
Position title: Buyer
Job Overview: Deeply understands the Middle east (primarily Saudi Arabia) fashion market. Manages product selection for external brands portfolio which will appeal to the customer. Has a flair for western fashion and a good understanding of sportswear trends. Reports into the Head of Buying.
Job Profile:
• Has good knowledge of global fashion and trends and maintains this by constantly researching this as part of everyday life.
• Takes accountability for delivering a customer focused and curated product range, achieved through effective market research and comp shops
• Create and execute a merchandise assortment plan that supports the financial, merchandising and marketing objectives set by senior management
• Drive sales, consideration, conversion, trade margin and other web KPIs including sell through
• Suggests timings for product launches and work on ideas for product promotion. Feeds information into marketing and liaises with Storefront team to execute season launches.
• Monthly / Quarterly catch ups with all key branded partners to align objective and drive key results.
• Negotiates marketing spends with all branded partners and work on marketing strategy for key calendar events like Black Friday, Ramadan
• Manage on-time deliveries
• Participate in open-to-buy meetings with planning and provide feedback. Work with planner to arrive on seasonal spend by brand and product type.
• Ensures the final range delivered is both balanced and appropriate for the time of year
• Manages the order raising process and ensures all buying documents are maintained
• Helps to interpret reports and to predict future sales
• Trades product together with the Planner
• Manages repeat buys and cancellations
• Interprets feedback from customers and reacts to any changes in customer demand
• Regularly audits the available product to ensure it is both well-represented and accurately described

Skills
Requirements:
• Background within a buying role, with relevant experience in branded buying. 6-10 years of work experience
• E-commerce experience strongly preferred
• Must have strong negotiation skills, good commercial awareness and the ability to make quick decisions.
• Excellent excel and power point skills
• Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, start-up experience preferred
• Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities at once and learn new things with little oversight
