Job Title: Proctologist & colorectal surgery
(Pelvic Repair & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction)
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, including physical examinations, to diagnose
anorectal disorders such as hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, abscesses, and colorectal cancer.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including colonoscopies, rectal ultrasounds, and
biopsies, to inform treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for conditions like colorectal cancer,
Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, and other anorectal pathologies.
- Perform proctological surgeries, including but not limited to hemorrhoidectomy,
sphincteroplasty, fissure repair, and fistula treatment.
- Utilize minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy, when appropriate, to enhance
recovery and reduce patient discomfort.
- Conduct and oversee colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies, and other relevant diagnostic
and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met during procedures and maintain up-to-date
knowledge of advancements in endoscopic technology.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options,
postoperative care, and preventive measures.
- Offer empathetic support to patients dealing with chronic or complex anorectal conditions.
- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to
develop multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- Coordinate with nurses and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research, case studies, and trials to contribute to advancements in
proctology.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging treatments, and innovative surgical techniques to
enhance patient outcomes.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in proctology, colorectal surgery, or
a related field.
- Valid medical license and board certification in proctology or colorectal surgery.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in proctology, including experience with endoscopic
procedures and complex anorectal surgeries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and support
to patients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.
- DOH license preferred
