Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician with expertise in wiring, soldering, and a solid understanding of electronics, particularly in automotive and automation contexts. This role involves hands-on work with FuelBuddy’s automation systems installed on trucks, ensuring high-quality assembly, repair, and maintenance of electronic components that enable precise control and monitoring within the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Electronic Assembly:
● Assemble, wire, and solder electronic components and circuits according to engineering schematics and technical instructions.
● Conduct rigorous testing of assemblies to ensure functionality and reliability.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
● Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty components in electronic systems, including automation controllers, sensors, and other critical equipment.
● Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to trace and resolve electronic issues, ensuring minimal downtime for the fleet.
Automotive and Automation Integration:
● Apply knowledge of electronics within automotive systems, focusing on sensors, control units, automation interfaces, and communication protocols unique to FuelBuddy’s truck systems.
● Collaborate with engineers to integrate new technologies and upgrades into existing automation setups.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
● Maintain detailed records of all assembly, repair, and testing activities, including updates to equipment manuals, schematics, and troubleshooting logs.
● Support quality control by documenting and reporting any anomalies or recurring issues for continuous improvement.
Quality and Safety Standards:
● Adhere to industry quality standards and internal protocols to ensure reliable, high-performance electronics.
● Follow strict safety guidelines while handling and repairing electronic components in truck environments.
Collaboration and Communication:
● Work alongside engineers, technicians, and other team members to resolve complex issues and develop enhancements for FuelBuddy’s automation systems.

Qualifications
● Proven experience in electronic assembly, wiring, and soldering, with a focus on automotive or automation systems.
● Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools and ability to interpret technical schematics.
● Strong understanding of automotive electronics, automation systems, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.).
● Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols. Physical Requirements:
● Ability to handle and manoeuvre electronic equipment within vehicle environments.
● Comfortable working in various physical positions, including kneeling, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
● Manual dexterity for handling intricate electronic components.
