HSE Engineer (Hygienist)

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct workplace safety and health assessments to identify potential risks related to hygiene, air quality, and other environmental factors.
• Develop and implement effective safety management systems and hygiene programs in compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Perform regular inspections and audits of work sites to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene protocols.
• Evaluate health hazards, including exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, and other potential risks.
• Monitor workplace conditions to assess the effectiveness of existing safety controls and recommend improvements.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to educate employees on safety and hygiene best practices.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses related to hygiene, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety and hygiene-related activities, incidents, and compliance reports.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management on health, safety, and hygiene matters.
• Ensure that protective equipment and systems are implemented, such as ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and sanitation measures.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest regulations, standards, and best practices in occupational health and safety.

Skills

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an HSE Engineer with a focus on hygiene in an industrial or construction environment.
• Certification in Industrial Hygiene, NEBOSH, IOSH, or other relevant qualifications.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, occupational health standards, and hygiene practices.
• Strong ability to assess and mitigate health and hygiene risks in the workplace.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of HSE management systems and risk assessment tools.
• Physically fit to carry out site inspections and assessments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
