Corporate Communications Graphic Designer Lead

What you will do

Visual Design & Content

  • Provides visual communications support to Al-Futtaim, developing and executing visual corporate communication assets in the style and spirit of the brand using a mix of creative skills,
  • Works across the business to develop and deliver upon design briefs by gathering information and data to clarify communications objectives,
  • Delivers creative and visual content across a wide range of platforms on a day-to-day basis including print, website, intranet, social media content, email, presentations, brochures, reports and events,
  • Keeps abreast and shares developments and trends in design and design software amongst the wider team.

Website & Intranet Content Development

  • Functions as part of a team to create compelling content for our corporate website and intranet channels through the creation of digital artwork and content,
  • Supports the creation and implementation of new web content with a focus on increasing awareness of and supporting Al-Futtaim’s internal / external communications priorities,
  • Keeps up-to-date with latest communications trends and best-practice to ensure constant innovation and improvement wherever possible.

Logo Design And Management

  • Design new logos and other brand elements as needed. Manage and update the brand’s logo library, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Manages and keeps up to date our inhouse image and content library,
  • Works with vendors on creative briefs and content production whenever needed

Design Hub Management

  • Acts as the team leader of our design hub team based in Egypt.
  • Supervise the team and the end-to-end process, from briefing through delivery, ensuring high-quality output that is on-brand and on-time. Review resources allocation to meet briefs and requests volume and deadlines.
  • Oversee the creative output of the remote design hub, ensuring that all work aligns with the company’s brand identity and strategic goals.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers within the hub, promoting skill development, creative growth and staying abreast of latest trends and innovations.

Brand And Visual Identity Management and Governance

  • Ensures that all designs and logos align with the brand visual identity guidelines,
  • Ensures the group brand and visual identity guidelines are regularly kept up to date, and keep pace with the latest group developments.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador, actively supporting Al-Futtaim’s corporate brand guidelines; working to achieve consistency of messaging, ‘look & feel’ and helping to infuse the brand purpose, vision and values across the organization.
  • Drive brand and VI compliance and governance across the organization,
  • Deploy and champion long-term vision for a harmonized and consistent brand and visual language across the organization.

Deliverables & Outputs  (the ‘product’ and value-add that gets created):

  • Designs for a range of projects delivered on time in full
  • Logo and Visual Identity creation with full brand guidelines
  • Complete adherence to corporate brand and visual identity guidelines across all divisions and brands towards all channels: online, offline, events, signage, intellectual property, logo design and creation (in English & Arabic)

  • All Al-Futtaim Group Divisions: Automotive, Retail, Real Estate, Financial Services, Healthcare, AFEF, Blue, and Corporate Services (HR, Emiratisation, EIT)

Skills

What equips you for the role

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in graphic design or digital design, visual communications or related study
  • Creative Content Development: 8+ years of experience in content creation and design, with a strong track record of translating creative ideas into visuals in either in-house or agency settings.
  • Attention to Detail and Deadline-Driven: Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, can work under pressure, and manage multiple projects within strict deadlines.
  • Graphic and Communication Skills: Excellent graphic design, writing, and communication skills; fluent in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas in clear, accessible ways.
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and web/social media content management systems.
  • Social Media and Video Skills: Experienced in managing content for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and has video editing/animation skills.
  • Web and Print Knowledge: Familiar with mobile-responsive design, printing, and production processes, with basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript knowledge as an advantage.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong presentation and communication skills, particularly in explaining design concepts to non-design stakeholders.
  • Branding Expertise: Experience in brand logo design, visual identity guidelines, and brand management and governance.
  • Organizational Skills and Trend Awareness: Strong organizational skills, up to date with trends in visual arts and best practices.
  • AI Familiarity: An AI-first mindset, with the ability to leverage AI-powered design tools and technologies to enhance creative processes and outputs.
