Position Summary
The Head Butcher oversees all operations within the butchery department, ensuring high-quality meat preparation, compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and efficient team management. Key Responsibilities
1. Butchery Operations
- Oversee the preparation, cutting, deboning, and trimming of various meats (beef, lamb, poultry, etc.).
- Ensure proper storage, preservation, and presentation of meat products.
- Maintain high standards of quality and freshness.
2. Team Leadership
- Supervise and train butchery staff in proper cutting techniques, hygiene, and customer service.
- Create work schedules to ensure adequate staffing during business hours.
- Monitor team performance, providing feedback and support for improvement.
3. Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock without overordering.
- Conduct regular stock checks and minimize waste through proper utilization.
- Liaise with suppliers to source quality meat products at competitive prices.
4. Customer Service
- Interact with customers, providing expert advice on meat cuts, cooking methods, and portioning.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

5. Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
