Description
- Provide resources, equipment, and manpower to construction sites
- Manages the transportation of building materials and equipment to all project sites
- Loads and unloads heavy construction equipment
- Assist in staging and completing construction projects
- Plans and coordinates routes and schedules
- Assist the manager to coordinate the daily transportation of employees, customers, and inbound/outbound freight.
- Assist the manager in coordinating and schedule the transportation of goods and personnel
- Track shipments and maintain accurate records of transportation activities
- Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
- Manage transportation budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage daily route assignments, calls, confirmations, paperwork, and logs
- Control vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and service activity
- Provide accurate forecasts of transportation needs
- Manage expenses within budget
- Scheduling transportation services, allocating drivers, and planning routes.
- Negotiating contracts and processing payments.
- Keeping transportation operations within budget without compromising efficiency.
- Processing transportation documentation and monitoring drivers' logbook entries.
- Developing, implementing, and improving transportation policies and procedures.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising drivers and transportation division staff.
- Liaising between management, drivers, and customers.
- Collaborating with internal departments to optimize transportation services.
- Evaluating driver performance, handling customer queries, and resolving complaints in a timely manner.
- Complying with transportation regulations and company policies.

Education & Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry;
- In-depth knowledge of transportation industry regulations;
- Proficient in processes related to cargo handling, logistics, transportation, warehousing and distribution;
- Proficient in planning and development of transportation plans;
- Proficient in purchasing, receiving, packing, and shipping requirements;
- Proficient in inspecting and auditing transportation operations;
- Willingness to provide operational support outside of business hours.
