Assistant Credit Manager - Assets Business Banking

Key Responsibilities:

  • To Underwrite and improve Credit decision making, review portfolio, increase operational efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, increasing self & team productivity, re-engineering and adapting customer centric approach with no compromise on risk assessment criteria. In-depth analysis of financial statements, bank statements, business model and other credit parameters with utmost due diligence on the application, counter parties, related parties, market know-how, alike with objective to build quality portfolio.
  • To take sound & judicious credit decisions within authority level on all applications including exceptions referred to the department on capability of repayment, business, economic, capital input, collateral available and recommendation on 360-degree review/assessment to higher level as per discretionary authority matrix.
  • To ensure adherence to Regulatory Guidelines, Consumer Protection Standards, SOP, Policy & Procedures, Bank’s Legal & Compliance framework, Central Bank norms, Sharia principles while approving/recommending credit proposals, incorporating professional risk assessment and other relevant aspects to facilitate decision making by the approving authority. To be instrumental in building quality lending portfolio and ensure lending within bank’s defined risk appetite and execute approval authorities diligently as per the Delegation of Authority (as applicable). To be vigilant and exercise due diligence from Fraud detection perspective and ensure team members are aligned to the same.
  • To review & monitor Portfolio indicators, MIS, KPI, Past Dues, Delinquency, Monitoring, Early Alert reports etc. and taking pro-active and corrective approach and take up the same with Line Manger / Unit Head. To undertake Credit After Sales Service as applicable, Remedial Solutions analyze structure for remedial solutions
  • To ensure that the department achieves an acceptable risk rating in all internal & external audits and timely resolution to Audit observations. To examine and investigate reported problems to incorporate corrective measures & solutions by eliminating bottlenecks.
  • To ensure unit practices & maintains robust Credit Initiation processes, SOP, SLA, TAT & other related parameters and ensuring timely delivery of credit decision to external & internal customers.
  • To measure & evaluate team's productivity and ensuring corrective measures are duly taken.
  • To ensure system understanding, feedback on system improvement, MIS management, UAT pre-system deliveries are performed in an effective manner.
  • To be well versed and display highly satisfactory oral and written communication skills, including ability to write business proposals and technical reports in a clear, concise and well-organized manner and able to perform multiple-tasking.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Assets Business Banking / Corporate Credit & Portfolio Management (preferably) and first-hand knowledge in underwriting Assets Business Banking / Financial Statement lending segment with a bank or financial institution.
