MEP Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY:

Accountable for the coordination of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems during pre-construction through construction including design, purchasing, installation, start-up and commissioning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years experience in Dubai as MEP Engineer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preconstruction

o Assist in scope creation and descope of MEP subcontractors

o Provide input for MEP critical path schedule

o Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the MEP trades

Construction

o Assist Project Management team with all MEP related activities

o Review MEP submittals

o Manage equipment procurement process, track and coordinate equipment deliveries

o Develop sequences of installation for MEP components and establish milestones to allow sufficient time for pre-testing and testing

o Coordinate and manage the quality control process for MEP systems installation

o Inspect subcontractors’ work for quality and to ensure that it adheres to the project’s specifications

o Coordinate and track critical path construction and startup activities

o Organize and conduct project meetings for critical MEP activities and coordination

o Work with subcontractors and design team to provide conflict resolution for MEP issues

o Track and validate progress and report for monthly billing

Startup, Commissioning, Closeout

o Manage startup and pretesting of MEP systems

o Coordinate and support third-party commissioning activities

o Participate in industry groups that focus on MEP/Coordination to gather insight and collaboration

o Other duties as assigned

o Participate and advise in project work planning (Workbook)

o Support project progress

o Hold design / subcontractor coordination meetings as required

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • MEP Engineer in Dubai: 5 years (Required)

Language:

  • Arabic & English (Required)

License/Certification:

  • UAE DRIVING LICENSE (Required)

Skills

  • Proficient in utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system drawings, ensuring accurate representation of system components and adherence to project specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes and industry regulations, enabling comprehensive reviews to ensure MEP designs comply with safety and efficiency standards.
  • Skilled in communication and collaboration to interact with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth integration of MEP systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to engage with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders, facilitating the seamless integration of MEP systems.
