  • Assist in ensuring the project meets WSP HSEQ / client HSEQ Management System requirements to protect personnel.
  • Monitor the implementation of health and safety arrangements at the project site level in accordance with legal and client requirements.
  • Review contractors’ health, safety, and environmental plans, risk assessments, and method statements against legal and client requirements before work begins.
  • Plan daily morning site visits to ensure health and safety measures are in place before work begins.
  • Conduct weekly joint HSE inspections with other inspectors and contractor personnel, ensuring all corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
  • Initiate and test emergency response plans, ensuring drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
  • Follow up on contractors’ incident investigation reports, ensuring corrective actions are identified and closed out to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide necessary technical guidance for accident prevention.
  • Conduct regular site safety reviews.
  • Assist in liaising with enforcement authorities (e.g., PCFC, EHS Checks).
  • Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel to the client.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant subject.
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, with a minimum of NEBOSH
  • International General Certificate (IGC).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in dealing with infrastructure projects.
