Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Financial Reporting:

  - Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.

  - Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and stakeholders.

 

2. General Ledger Maintenance:

  - Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.

  - Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

 

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  - Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  - Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

 

4. Tax Compliance:

  - Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  - Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect the organization.

 

5. Audit Support:

  - Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.

  - Prepare necessary documentation and respond to auditor inquiries.

 

6. Cost Accounting:

  - Analyze cost structures and provide insights on cost-saving opportunities.

  - Monitor inventory levels and assess inventory valuation methods.

 

7. Financial Analysis:

  - Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.

  - Provide insights on profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency.

 

8. Team Leadership:

  - Mentor and supervise junior accountants or accounting staff.

  - Provide training on accounting principles and practices.

 

9. Compliance and Controls:

  - Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  - Identify areas for improvement in processes and controls.

 

10. Software Proficiency:

   - Utilize accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) for financial reporting and analysis.

   - Stay updated on technological advancements in accounting tools.
