Overview Of The Role:
The PDI Technician is responsible for executing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and fitting accessories as per established SOPs. The role includes performing minor troubleshooting, polishing cars, and ensuring customer vehicles are delivered pristine and defect-free. The technician must maintain equipment in optimal working condition and adhere to safety protocols, striving for zero defects and delays. This position requires active involvement in 5S and Kaizen activities to improve efficiency and comply with company and distributor policies. Effective communication with team members and the Section Foreman is essential for successfully achieving branch targets and delivering on-time, quality results.
What You Will Do:
- Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and accessories fitment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform minor mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on vehicles.
- Conduct polishing of cars to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Keep customer cars clean during PDI, accessories fitment, and polishing processes.
- Maintain all equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition, including vehicle lifts.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents immediately to the Section Foreman.
- Ensure branch targets are achieved every month, and work quality minimizes job stoppages.
- Reduce defective work by ensuring SOP is adhered to in all sections at all times.
- Participate actively in 5S and Kaizen initiatives and activities at the PDI Centre.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including maintaining speed limits and using safe working methods.
- Aim to go the extra mile to meet team performance enhancements and achieve Kaizen goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and the Section Foreman to strengthen the supply chain and ensure timely delivery of defect-free car
Skills
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of vehicle detailing and accessory fitting procedures.
- Ability to effectively implement SOPs and quality control measures.
- Proven skills in team collaboration and process improvement through Kaizen initiatives.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- ITI (Technical school) or Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience in the automotive service department of a reputed dealership.
- Possession of a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license from home country, country of residence, or country of previous work.
- Proficiency in customer-focused services, oral and written communication, teamwork, and a commitment to Kaizen-oriented processes.
