The Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and preparing high-quality matcha-based beverages and other menu items in line with Matcha Moto’s standards. This role plays an essential part in creating a welcoming, efficient, and clean environment that reflects the brand’s premium, health-conscious ethos.





Key Responsibilities




1. Beverage Preparation



  • Prepare and serve matcha drinks, specialty coffees, teas, and other menu items according to company recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and appearance for all beverages.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain equipment including matcha whisks, blenders, and espresso machines.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and promptly communicate shortages.




2. Customer Service



  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service at all times.
  • Take orders accurately and process transactions using the POS system.
  • Educate customers about matcha, its health benefits, and menu options when appropriate.
  • Handle customer feedback professionally and escalate concerns to management when needed.




3. Cleanliness & Hygiene



  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
  • Follow daily cleaning checklists for bar, counter, and preparation areas.
  • Wash utensils, glassware, and equipment throughout the shift as needed.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.




4. Teamwork & Operations



  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Assist with stock rotation, restocking supplies, and opening/closing duties.
  • Follow Matcha Moto’s service standards, dress code, and operating procedures.
  • Support the team during busy periods with flexibility and a positive attitude.






Skills & Attributes



  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional.
  • Interest in health, wellness, and matcha culture is a plus.






Qualifications & Experience



  • Previous experience as a barista or in a café environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of matcha preparation or coffee-making techniques is an advantage.
  • Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain one).
