Role: Senior Agronomist - hydroponics (Hot Climate/GCC) Experience: 10–15+ Years Location: Sharjah, UAE
About the role:Lead and optimize large-scale hydroponic greenhouse production in extreme hot climate conditions. The role requires deep, hands-on experience in Saudi Arabia or similar GCC environments, with full ownership of yield, quality, and cost performance across all seasons, including peak summer.
Responsibilities:◠Lead agronomic strategy for hydroponic systems (DWC, NFT, grow bags / substrate). ◠Plan and execute crop programs for leafy greens, herbs, and fruiting crops. ◠Optimize nutrient recipes, EC/p H, root-zone health, and water quality (RO, high TDS source water). ◠Manage greenhouse climate in extreme heat: cooling pads, fogging, ventilation, shading, CO₂. ◠Deliver stable summer production through heat-stress mitigation and crop selection. ◠Drive yield per m², uniformity, and shelf life for retail and HORECA markets. ◠Implement IPM and disease-prevention programs suited to desert climates. ◠Establish SOPs for planting, pruning, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. ◠Lead, train, and manage agronomy and farm operations teams. ◠Monitor crop and climate data; report performance and lead continuous improvement.
Requirements:◠10–15+ years commercial hydroponics / greenhouse experience. ◠Mandatory experience in Saudi Arabia or similar extreme hot-climate regions. ◠Proven track record in large commercial greenhouses (≥1 hectare). ◠Strong expertise in nutrient management, climate control, and summer production. ◠Hands-on operator with strong commercial and problem-solving mindset.
Education:â— Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field.
