Design Manager – Design & Build📍 Location: Dubai, UAE (Flexible travelling within UAE)
We are looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead design delivery for large-scale building projects, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked on school buildings. Experience in luxury villas and data centers will also be considered. This role requires hands-on leadership across architectural, structural, interior, and exterior design, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and consultants from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the end-to-end design process from concept to construction handover Oversee architectural, structural, interior, and exterior design coordination Manage and guide a team of architects, designers, and craftsmen Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, and specialist consultants Ensure designs are buildable, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with project timelines Chair design coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants, and clients Manage design approvals, statutory submissions, and authority approvals Control design changes and ensure smooth handover to construction teams Support commercial teams to ensure designs remain within budget
Key Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (Structural engineering exposure is essential) Proven experience as a Design Manager on Design & Build projects Strong experience in building schools (highly preferred) Experience in luxury villas and/or data centers is an added advantage Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of architects and craftsmen Solid understanding of structural design (interior & exterior) and construction detailing Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations and approval processes Excellent coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Experience12–15+ years of relevant experience in large building projects Background working with main contractors or design-build firms preferred
