The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients by acting as the primary point of contact for accounting and bookkeeping services. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, ensuring service delivery quality, coordinating with internal accounting teams, and identifying opportunities to upsell additional financial and compliance services.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounting and bookkeeping clients
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with business owners, finance managers, and stakeholders
- Understand client business activities, financial needs, and compliance requirements
- Handle client queries related to bookkeeping, accounting, VAT, and financial reporting
Service delivery and coordination
- Coordinate with internal accounting and bookkeeping teams to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Monitor monthly deliverables such as bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT filings, and financial statements
- Ensure client documents and information are received on time
- Follow up on pending items, deadlines, and approvals
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, including VAT and statutory filing requirements
- Review basic financial reports before sharing with clients to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Explain financial reports, variances, and key figures to clients in a clear and professional manner
Client Retention and Growth
- Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell services such as VAT registration, tax advisory, audit coordination, ESR, and corporate services
- Conduct periodic client review meetings to assess satisfaction and service needs
- Support contract renewals and manage client retention
- Maintain accurate client records, communication logs, and service status in the CRM system
- Prepare regular client status updates and relationship reports
- Coordinate onboarding of new clients and handover from sales teams
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in client relationship management, accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services
- Good understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping processes, and VAT in the UAE
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain financial information to non-finance clients
- Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. Zoho Books, Xero, QuickBooks, Odoo)
- CRM experience is an advantage
