About the Role
MAPA Group is seeking an experienced Design Manager to be assigned to our Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall Metro Station Expansion in Dubai. The role focuses on reviewing, coordinating, and validating existing design deliverables prepared by consultants, ensuring they are fully compliant, constructible, and ready for execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess design deliverables prepared by consultants for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Identify design errors, inconsistencies, clashes, and coordination gaps across all disciplines
- Ensure full compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and authority standards
- Coordinate design clarifications, comments, and revisions with design consultants and clients
- Lead design review meetings and multidisciplinary coordination workshops
- Monitor design changes and evaluate their impact on cost, schedule, and construction activities
- Support site teams by providing timely technical clarifications and resolutions
- Ensure alignment between design deliverables and construction sequencing
- Maintain structured records of design reviews, comments, and approvals
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or metro projects
- Proven experience in design review, design coordination, or design management roles
- Strong background in consultant design review and multidisciplinary coordination
- Gulf region experience is mandatory, preferably in the UAE
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes (RTA experience is an advantage)
- Experience working under FIDIC-based or design–build contracts
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills
