Role summary
We’re a VAT-registered UAE trading business using Zoho Books. We need a reliable part-time bookkeeper who can come to our office and keep our books clean, reconciled, and VAT-ready every month.
Time commitment
- On-site: 2 visits per month (each 3–4 hours) or 1 half-day weekly (depending on workload)
- Remote: 1 hour per week (optional, for posting/review/follow-ups)
- ~12–20 hours/month total in steady state
Key responsibilities
- Post sales invoices, supplier bills, expenses in Zoho Books
- Maintain proper document attachments (tax invoices, receipts, bank proof, shipping/customs docs where relevant)
- Track and update Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
- Record deposits/advance payments and correctly apply them to invoices
- Monthly bank reconciliation (Zoho matched to bank statement)
- Prepare VAT review pack and ensure VAT codes/rates are correctly applied
- Produce monthly reports (by an agreed monthly deadline):
- P&L (Month & YTD)
- Balance Sheet
- Aged Receivables / Payables
- Basic cash snapshot (next 4–8 weeks commitments, if needed)
Skills
Requirements (must-have)
- Hands-on Zoho Books experience
- Strong UAE VAT knowledge and practical filing support
- Experience with trading/import documentation is a plus (not mandatory)
- Organized, detail-focused, and able to work to deadlines
- Able to work on-site in UAE
Nice to have
- Zoho Finance ecosystem experience (Zoho Invoice/Inventory/CRM)
- Multi-currency and bank charges/FX handling
- Experience setting up simple “deal/PO/shipment” tracking in Zoho
