Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant working environment at our construction sites. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture among workers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and enforce site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters
• Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation
• Stop unsafe work practices and recommend corrective measures
Skills
Qualifications & Requirements
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum [2–5] years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
• Relevant safety certifications preferred
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work on-site and adapt to a fast-paced construction environment
