The Senior Software Engineer - Power Platforms is a fully participating member of an agile feature team who works independently on Power Platform software development and problem resolution. The role involves technical design, Power Platform software development, implementation, and maintenance of Power Platform solutions/products that support the Emirates Group Business.

In this role, you will:

• Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing to analyzing technical application requirements.
• Convert technical solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level design and working code.
• Independently write secure and optimized code by implementing Emirates Group approved coding standards.
• Participate in rotational on-call support and actively participate in resolving production issues within SLAs with minimal or no active supervision.
• Responsible for built-in quality and ensuring 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
• Analyse and fix all identified defects with minimal rework
• Ensure re-factoring practices are adequately adopted to ensure minimum code debt.
• Ensure logging and monitoring hooks are implemented in the code development.
• Continuously stay current with the relevant technologies and implement the learnings to enhance code quality.
• Adhere to the Emirates Group IT coding standards, guidelines, and best practices and contribute to Software Engineering Playbooks and other Standards documents.

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Certification in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
• Experience in Information Technology and Software Engineering, preferably within an Agile delivery environment.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade applications using modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working with a range of technologies and tools, including relational databases (MariaDB, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL), Python, Power FX, and DAX.

Knowledge/skills:

• Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI).
• Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and governance.
• Advanced development of Canvas Apps (responsive design, delegation, reusable components, performance optimisation).
• Experience building Model-Driven Apps using Dataverse (forms, views, business rules, commands).
• Strong proficiency in Power FX, including complex formulas, collections, error handling, and optimisation.
• Advanced design of Power Automate cloud flows (error handling, retries, concurrency control, child flows, solution-aware components).
• Solid understanding of Power Platform security, DLP policies, environment strategy, and governance.
• Hands-on expertise with Power BI Desktop, Service, and Mobile, including datasets, reports, dashboards, workspaces, and apps.
• Strong data modelling skills (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, SCDs, relationships, RLS).
• Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M), including performance optimisation and query folding awareness.
• Experience configuring On-premises Data Gateways and managing Power BI security and workspace access.
• Hands-on experience with Power Platform ALM, managed solutions, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps/Git.
• Experience integrating Power Platform with databases, REST APIs, and Azure services.
• Strong production support, troubleshooting, testing, monitoring, and Agile delivery experience within enterprise environments.
