Key Responsibilities

The role of the Assistant Relationship Banker (ARB) is pivotal in supporting the Senior Banker/Banker by delivering comprehensive sales support aimed at driving new business origination and enhancing client profitability. This role demands a collaborative and proactive approach to ensure the success of the client portfolio through strategic and detailed sales activities.




Strategy





  • Provide proactive transactional support including client research, preparing detailed pitch books, and generating insightful industry leads to assist in new business origination.

  • Conduct thorough client analysis and prepare detailed reports on activities post-origination, including accurate and timely documentation of client meetings and creation of informative briefing notes.

  • Assist in implementing sales discipline protocols such as the Account Planning process, maintaining an up-to-date pipeline of potential deals, preparing client call reports, and supporting deal approval submissions to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Support deal execution by coordinating document negotiations and collaborating with Product Sales and Client Management teams on documentation, deal drawdowns, fee bookings, and revenue recognition.

  • Manage client portfolios actively to optimize limit utilization and ensure the accuracy of revenue and returns, engaging regularly with clients and product partners.


Business





  • Work closely with the Senior Banker/Banker to provide direct sales support on all origination activities within the assigned client portfolio.

  • Co-own client revenues and profitability by supporting transactional activities including client research, pitch preparation, and coordination with various stakeholders to produce client-focused, high-quality materials.

  • Perform bespoke client and competitor analyses that underscore Standard Chartered’s comparative value proposition, facilitating strategic positioning in the market.

  • Coordinate with Product Sales and network teams to assist the Senior Banker/Banker with pricing analysis and calculation of deal returns, contributing to accurate financial assessments.


This role requires a detail-oriented, strategic thinker who is capable of balancing multiple facets of client relationship management and sales operations, contributing meaningfully to the growth objectives and financial targets of the bank.

Qualifications

  • Professional Qualifictions such as CFA or equivalent are advantageous


Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Investment Banking or a closely related area with a proven track record of supporting successful business origination and client relationship management.

  • Fluent business proficiency in English, including effective communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Exposure to private credit is preferrable

  • Prior Experience in supporting RMs / Coverage Bankers in a client facing or deal support capacity 

  • Strong Credit Skills 

  • Highly motivated, detail oriented and eager to learn 


Additional qualifications or certifications related to financial services, risk management, and compliance will be advantageous and welcomed.
