Role Summary:



As a Mining Autonomy Account Manager - Command for Hauling, you will be working with mining customers and directing region and dealer efforts in pursuit of mining surface autonomy sales and other mining-related business within a defined autonomy product and geographic territory. This position will report into the EAME MineStar Solutions regional teams, but liaise with other Caterpillar business units, and dealers to pursue autonomy product development and coordinate technical/commercial proposals.



What You Will Do:



  • Supports the development of mining surface command technology recommendations and commercial proposals.
  • Participates on behalf of and commits Caterpillar in direct sales negotiations.
  • Provides input to product business units concerning new product development, new product requirements, anti-competitive strategies, and pricing.
  • Establishes pricing strategies and is partially accountable for profitability
  • Maintains coverage of key mining customers.
  • Participates in site evaluation of customers' mine sites related to Command for Hauling and develop solutions to improve customers' operations efficiencies, and cost-per-ton.
  • Evaluates product performance on customers' sites and recommend ways to improve customers' operations, efficiencies, and cost-per-ton.
  • Spearheads the introduction of new mining products, services, and technologies.
  • The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
  • The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems, which may not be obvious. The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.
  • The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.
  • Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, etc.
  • The position works to refine processes or procedures to ensure the best use of resources and technology in meeting quality goals.

What You Have:



Mining Industry Background



  • Minimum 10 - 12 years in the Mining sector with strong customer relationship management experience.

Customer Focus & Relationship Management



  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Understand customer pain points and proactively provide solutions.

Sales & Business Development



  • Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals with contractors, project owners, and procurement teams.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and new projects.

Solution Selling



  • Present integrated solutions that reduce total cost of ownership for customers.
  • Leverage case studies and success stories to demonstrate value.

Market & Product Knowledge



  • Understand heavy equipment categories, applications, and competitive landscape.
  • Stay updated on technology solutions (grade control, telematics) and service programs.
  • Monitor competitor activities, especially 3rd party brands, and develop counterstrategies.

Machine, Aftermarket and Services Sales Expertise



  • Strong commercial skills in selling heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to develop sales strategies, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Experience with dealer/distributor networks and direct sales.
  • Exposure to parts, maintenance, and service offerings to support full lifecycle sales.

Core Competencies



  • Fluent in English. Additional spoken language is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in supporting mining operations to improve productivity and lower operating cost.

Top Candidates will also have:



  • Knowledge of Cat MineStar Solutions staffed and autonomous products, product applications, and the Dealer’s role in selling and supporting MineStar Solutions, as well as their business practices.
  • Experience in technical sales support.
  • Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others within Caterpillar, dealers, and customer organizations.
