Job Overview
A leading aviation and energy organisation is seeking an experienced Manager – Operations & Business Development to lead aviation operations and drive strategic growth initiatives. This role combines operational oversight, project management, and business development responsibilities across UAE and international operations.
The successful candidate will manage aviation assets, ensure operational excellence, lead joint venture committees, and develop new business opportunities in line with corporate strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities – Operations & Assets
Set direction and oversee all aviation operations, ensuring compliance with operational, EHS, quality, and customer service standards
Manage aviation assets, including planning, expansion, upgrades, replacements, and equipment procurement
Ensure operational activities align with insurance requirements and manage liability risk
Monitor supply chain performance across storage, product transfer, and in-plane service facilities
Key Responsibilities – Business Development & Project Management
Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities with airlines, oil companies, airport authorities, government entities, and suppliers
Negotiate agreements and manage projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring timely execution and smooth handover
Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders for ongoing operational success
Key Responsibilities – Professional Expertise & Standards
Develop and maintain aviation operations, quality control, and safety standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
Provide technical guidance to joint ventures, third parties, and operational teams to ensure compliance with company manuals and procedures
Key Responsibilities – Joint Venture Management
Lead management and technical committees for joint ventures, driving consensus on operational, investment, and technical matters
Manage complex stakeholder issues, disputes, and grievances, safeguarding organisational interests
Act as the key interface between the organisation and external stakeholders, including airport authorities and strategic partners
Key Responsibilities – Industry Recognition & Strategic Leadership
Promote the organisation’s aviation operations regionally and globally through industry forums and committees
Advise marketing, strategy, and service teams on operational needs, business risks, budgeting, and special projects
Qualifications
Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
Minimum 12 years of experience in the aviation fuel or aviation operations industry
At least 8 years in an operations management role within aviation operations
Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation facilities construction, maintenance, and project management
Experience and Skills
Demonstrated leadership experience in aviation supply chain operations, quality control, and assurance systems
Strong understanding of aviation technology, business models, and commercial agreements
Proven ability to lead complex projects, joint ventures, and stakeholder management initiatives
Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
