Summary:
The Managing Quantity Surveyor (QS) in Construction will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying on construction projects, managing costs and ensuring that the project is completed within budget. They will also be responsible for leading a team of quantity surveyors and providing strategic advice to senior management.
Job Responsibility:
- Manage all aspects of quantity surveying on construction projects, including cost estimation, cost control, and risk management.
- Lead a team of quantity surveyors and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and final accounts to senior management.
- Manage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best terms and pricing.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management on cost-saving opportunities and financial risks.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS or equivalent are preferred.
