Job Purpose Ensures aviation professionals meet English language proficiency standards in compliance with the ICAO and GCAA requirements. Responsible for English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessments, theoretical knowledge examination, and the development and delivery of aviation English courses.
Key Result Responsibilities English Language Proficiency Assessments:
• Conducts ELP assessments, ensuring compliance with the ICAO and GCAA standards and requirements; acts as an OPE assessor.
• Evaluates candidates’ speaking and listening proficiency in accordance with the ICAO and the GCAA requirements.
• Provides feedback to all candidates regarding their performance during the assessment, ensuring areas of improvement are communicated to candidates.
• Ensures that all assessment records are accurately maintained and in adherence to the company’s policies and procedures.
• Maintains high standards of overall ELP customer journey by adhering to the GCAA regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Theoretical Knowledge Examination:
• Reviews, revises, and expands the ground school exam question bank, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and assists the line manager with quality evaluation of the areas requiring technical knowledge.
• Creates and administers internal mock exams to assess trainees’ knowledge and readiness prior to the GCAA theoretical examinations.
• Maintains the records of internal mock exam results, in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Performs invigilator duties while ensuring that discipline is maintained, and the exams are conducted in accordance with the latest regulations.
Aviation English Course Development & Delivery:
• Designs and reviews materials for the aviation English course, ensuring courses are tailored to each students’ needs based on their English Proficiency level.
• Develops, reviews and updates training materials and develops English courses/programs as per the company needs.
• Delivers group and private aviation English courses, adapting teaching methodology in accordance with students’ learning styles and needs.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop and maintain engaging and effective aviation English language courses.
• Utilizes innovative teaching methods and resources to promote active learning and fosters a positive learning environment.
• Performs any additional duties as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages) • Minimum bachelor’s in aviation management/ quality management/ education or related field.
• ELP Level 6 certification.
• CPLIR, APL & Multi engine license.
Work Experience 4+ years of experience in a similar role, handling similar tasks.
