Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Customs Clearing Representative to manage our end-to-end shipment clearance processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Dubai Trade portal, Dubai Customs regulations, and local municipality requirements to ensure the smooth and timely movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Customs Documentation: Prepare, process, and submit all types of customs declarations (Import, Export, Transit, Re-export, and Transfer) via the Dubai Trade (Mirsal 2) portal.
• Municipality Filings: Manage and monitor all types of Dubai Municipality (DM) filings, including Food Import Release (FIRS), health certificates, and other regulatory approvals for specialized cargo.
• Port Coordination: Coordinate with DP World, shipping lines, and airlines to collect Delivery Orders (DO) and manage container releases.
• Inspection Management: Arrange and attend physical customs inspections at various ports (Jebel Ali, Khalid Port, Port Rashid, DXB Cargo Village, etc.) as required.
• Financial Handling: Calculate accurate customs duties, taxes, and deposit fees; ensure timely payment through the portal and manage refund/claim processes for deposits.
• Cross-Emirate Operations: Handle documentation and clearance for Sharjah Customs and other northern emirates when necessary.
• Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with UAE laws, HS Code classifications, and prohibited/restricted item regulations.

Skills

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in UAE customs clearance.
• Technical Knowledge: Complete proficiency in Dubai Trade (Mirsal 2), ZADI, and Municipality portals.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with customs officers, port authorities, and logistics partners.
• Added Advantage: Direct experience or existing network with Sharjah Customs and SAIF Zone authorities.
• Language: Fluent in English (Arabic is a significant plus).
• Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills to resolve documentation discrepancies or "hold" status on shipments quickly.
