MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLETo ensure that flydubai’s Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) are maintained in full compliance with GCAA and EASA regulatory requirements and to the highest industry standards, ensuring their availability and continued approval for use by flydubai airline and the Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manages and oversees flydubai’s FSTD Compliance, acting as the focal point for all FSTD operational matters and coordinating with the GCAA, EASA, and internal stakeholders as required.
- Provides first line management support to ensure all Preventative Maintenance (PMs), Qualification Test Guides (QTGs), Safety Checks, Flyouts are performed and recorded in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures defects rectification and FSTD modifications are performed in accordance with regulatory, manufacturer, and flydubai requirements in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ensures all facilities associated with the simulator operation are maintained to relevant standards to ensure operational continuity.
- Identifies spare parts requirements and manages the efficient control, usage and replenishment of spare parts to support operational continuity.
- Promotes safe FSTD operations by embedding Safety Management System (SMS) principles across all simulator maintenance and operational activities.
- Liaises with regulatory authorities to ensure all simulator approvals are maintained at the qualified levels, supporting safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinates effectively with simulator maintenance team, representing flydubai with any outsourced maintenance provider.
- Plans, supports and manages audits on any outsourced service providers related to the FSTD operations and management systems.
- Contributes to the development of flydubai’s FSTD Organization in line with the growth of the ATO.
- Forecasts and plans future FSTD operational and technical requirements and identifies potential obsolescence and upgrades requirements.
- Ensures manufacturer service bulletins and modifications are reviewed and applied as required, in consultation with the Subject Matter Expert including pilot representatives where applicable.
- Ensures FSTD compliance indicators and reliability metrics are defined, monitored, and maintained within approved performance criteria on a periodic basis.
- Applies working knowledge of GCAA and EASA Part ORA, Certification Specifications for Flight Simulation Training Devices – Aeroplanes (CS-FSTD(A)) and associated requirements or procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
- Fluent in English
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position in any FSTDO dealing with GCAA or EASA regulatory environment. Working knowledge of human factors principles and applicable maintenance standards, methods, and practices. Demonstrated experience collaborating with civil aviation regulatory authorities, including GCAA and EASA, to obtain and maintain FSTD qualifications required.

ISR REQUIREMENTSReads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
