Project: Taweelah Independent Power Plant Location: Abu Dhabi
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our civil works team at the Taweelah Power Plant, one of the UAE's key energy infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale industrial construction in a dynamic and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities: Design, analyze, and review structural systems including reinforced concrete and steel structures for power plant facilities Prepare and review structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure design integration Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities for compliance with approved drawings and standards Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors on structural engineering matters Ensure all designs comply with international and local codes (ACI, AISC, BS, IBC, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code) Participate in structural assessments, load analyses, and foundation design Support the preparation of RFIs, technical reports, and progress documentation
Requirments: Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Master's is a plus) Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in power, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, STAAD. Pro, SAP2000, or SAFEStrong knowledge of international design codes (ACI 318, AISC, Eurocode, BS 8110) Experience with reinforced concrete, steel structures, and foundation design Familiarity with Auto CAD; BIM/Revit experience is an advantage Experience working on site in the UAE or GCC is preferred Excellent communication and coordination skills
