Strategy
-Implement comprehensive project risk management procedures including identification, qualitative analysis, mitigation planning, and maintenance of the project risk register using the enterprise Active Risk Manager system.
-Evaluate the operational readiness of major projects, providing adjustment instructions and feedback to enhance overall project performance.
-Identify communication protocols and establish correspondence policies, reporting structures, and periodic meetings across project stakeholders.
Operations
-Review and validate project designs and drawings, coordinating with contractors to implement necessary technical adjustments.
-Supervise on-site work execution and perform regular field inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and project specifications.
-Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfil all handover requirements, including documentation, punch lists, and technical inspections.
-Ensure the implementation of inspection and testing programs during construction, overseeing material compliance and quality control activities.
-Review and approve traffic diversions during project execution, ensuring proper alignment with RTA safety and diversion protocols.
-Monitor monthly progress against the project schedule baseline, conduct variance analysis, investigate delays, and recommend corrective actions.
-Oversee application of Value Engineering for Roads Department projects under construction and submit insights to relevant committees.
-Track project defects during the Defect Notification Period (DNP), ensuring all outstanding works and snags are resolved effectively.
Process / Product Improvement
-Conduct lessons-learned evaluations from completed projects to identify design or material issues, recommend improvements, and replicate successful practices in future projects.
-Invite and lead kick-off meetings, providing technical orientation to project teams on roles, procedures, reporting requirements, and communication protocols.
-Guide and mentor engineers and technicians to proactively resolve site-level issues and promote effective project management practices.
-Support the maintenance team in identifying defects and repair requirements post completion, ensuring project longevity and sustainability.
-Periodically analyze project performance using OPMS and recommend process simplification, system upgrades, or procedural innovations to improve delivery.
-Supervise inspection and testing activities to ensure that all construction materials and workmanship meet RTA’s quality and technical specifications.
-Physical Working Conditions
-Highly field-intensive role requiring regular site visits to active road and infrastructure project locations across Dubai.
-Work involves on-site inspections, quality audits, traffic diversion reviews, and direct contractor engagement to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
-Ensure rapid intervention at project sites during emergencies and incidents within the project area and coordinate effectively with the concerned teams to manage and resolve such situations.
-Bachelor's degree/master's degree in civil engineering and Transportation Engineering
-10 years of experience in road/highway construction and project management
