Role Description The Child Protection Case Worker is a full-time, on-site role based at Shepherds Voice Nursery and Primary School in the Fujairah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. This role involves identifying, assessing, and responding to child protection concerns within the school community, while maintaining accurate case records and documentation. The Case Worker will conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and coordinate with school staff, families, and relevant external agencies to ensure the welfare of each child. Daily tasks include monitoring student well-being, providing guidance to staff on safeguarding protocols, delivering awareness sessions, and ensuring compliance with local child protection regulations and school policies. The role also requires participation in multidisciplinary meetings, reporting concerns through established channels, and promoting a culture of prevention, respect, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
Professional experience in child protection, social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field, preferably within an educational setting. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Development, or a closely related discipline. Knowledge of child protection best practices, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks in the United Arab Emirates or willingness to learn local requirements. Strong skills in case management, documentation, and report writing, with careful attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Ability to conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and make well-informed decisions under pressure while prioritizing the child’s best interests. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, teachers, school leaders, and external agencies. Demonstrated capacity for empathy, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining professional boundaries when handling sensitive or distressing situations. Training or certification in child protection, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, or crisis intervention is highly beneficial. Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages commonly spoken in the community is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to contribute to staff training, awareness campaigns, and policy development.
