Amana Healthcare is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist with a focus on Elderly Psychiatry to join its facility in Al Ain. The role involves delivering comprehensive mental health care to geriatric patients across long-term care, rehabilitation, and complex medical settings. The successful candidate will manage age-related psychiatric conditions, cognitive disorders, and associated comorbidities, working closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, patient-centered care tailored to the needs of this population.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions in elderly patients, including dementia, delirium, depression, anxiety, and late-onset psychosis. Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care tailored to the geriatric population. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing teams, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and families to ensure holistic care. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning meetings. Ensure accurate clinical documentation in line with regulatory and organizational standards. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and best-practice development in elderly mental health care.
Qualifications
Medical degree with completion of recognized postgraduate training in Psychiatry. Valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) Specialist Psychiatry license or eligibility to obtain one. Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Elderly / Geriatric Psychiatry. Sound knowledge of psychiatric care within long-term care, rehabilitation, or complex care settings. Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills.
