Roles & Responsibilities
Job purpose:
To lead and perform high-quality assembly of lighting fixtures and components while ensuring adherence to company standards, safety protocols, and production timelines. The Senior Assembly Operator plays a key role in supporting efficient operations by mentoring junior staff, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products meet AWR Frater’s quality expectations.
Job responsibilities:
Assemble complex lighting units, components, and subassemblies according to technical drawings, specifications, and SOPs.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in lighting assembly.
Inspect assembled products for accuracy, quality, and functionality before moving them to the next phase.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies or defects.
Train and guide junior assembly operators, promoting best practices and safe work habits.
Maintain accurate production records, reporting any deviations or delays.
Ensure the work area remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Suggest improvements to assembly processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Act as a point of contact during supervisor absences, providing leadership and oversight to the assembly floor.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and basic quality control practices.
Capable of training and mentoring others effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a production environment.
