Position Summary
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, owning, and optimizing the organization’s enterprise data platform. The role ensures that data is reliable, accessible, secure, and fit for use across analytics, reporting and advanced data use cases.
Responsibility Description
Data Platform & Pipeline Ownership
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines. Own end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, storage and retrieval processes. Ensure high availability, scalability and performance of the enterprise data platform. Monitor and resolve data pipeline failures and production issues.
Data Quality, Governance & Security
Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring mechanisms. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across systems. Contribute to data governance standards, documentation, and lineage. Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Automation & Platform Management
Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the data platform. Ensure platform stability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
Analytics & Query Performance
Optimize data structures and models to support analytics and reporting workloads Tune data processing and query performance to meet business and operational SLAsDrive continuous improvement and future enhancements to the data platform

Contribute to the design and evolution of the organization’s data architecture Define and enforce data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
Guiding Junior Team Members
Provides technical expertise to new and/or junior members in the team to guide them on a day-to-day basis and help them scale up faster
Self-Development
Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role. Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended. Sets the performance goals in the beginning of the year after discussion with the manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the year

Academic/ Vocational Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer sciences / IT / Engineering Cloud or data engineering certifications are an advantage
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in building and maintaining enterprise-grade data lake platform Minimum 2 years’ experience with Oracle OCI or equivalent cloud platforms
