The Role We are seeking an experienced Media Relations Manager to lead media engagement strategies, strengthen relationships with journalists and media organizations, and manage external communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will develop compelling narratives, protect organizational reputation, coordinate media activities, and ensure consistent communication of brand values, achievements, and strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement media relations strategies, communications plans, press engagement frameworks, and reputation management initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, broadcasters, industry publications, influencers, media agencies, and key external stakeholders. Lead media outreach activities including press releases, media briefings, interviews, press conferences, executive communications, and corporate announcements. Collaborate with Corporate Communications, Marketing, Government Affairs, Brand Management, Public Relations, Human Resources, Legal, and Executive Leadership to deliver integrated communication strategies. Develop compelling content including press releases, media statements, briefing documents, talking points, executive speeches, Q&A materials, and media kits. Monitor media coverage, public sentiment, industry trends, competitor communications, and reputational risks to provide strategic insights and recommendations. Manage crisis communications activities, including rapid response planning, media monitoring, issue management, and stakeholder communication during sensitive situations. Establish media governance processes, communication standards, approval workflows, brand messaging guidelines, and reporting frameworks. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including media coverage quality, share of voice, sentiment analysis, audience reach, engagement metrics, campaign effectiveness, and brand reputation indicators. Coordinate media events, interviews, industry conferences, executive appearances, product launches, and public relations initiatives. Manage relationships with PR agencies, media monitoring providers, content creators, journalists, and external communication partners. Drive digital transformation initiatives through media intelligence platforms, social listening tools, AI-powered content analytics, automated reporting, and data-driven communication strategies. Utilize media monitoring tools, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Power BI, social media analytics platforms, and communication management tools to measure impact and generate insights. Prepare media reports, reputation dashboards, executive briefings, communication analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership. Lead, mentor, and develop media relations specialists, communications coordinators, and cross-functional stakeholders while fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications in Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Corporate Communications, Digital Marketing, Crisis Management, or equivalent are advantageous. Minimum 5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, corporate communications, journalism, brand communications, or related roles. At least 2 years of experience managing media engagement programs, PR campaigns, or external communications initiatives preferred. Strong understanding of media relations, public relations strategy, corporate reputation management, crisis communications, storytelling, content development, and stakeholder engagement. Experience working with media organizations, PR agencies, journalists, digital media platforms, social media channels, and corporate communications teams. Proficiency with media monitoring platforms, social listening tools, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Power BI, content management systems, and analytics tools. Familiarity with digital communications, influencer relations, AI-powered media analytics, brand intelligence platforms, ESG communications, and reputation management technologies is advantageous. Strong writing, communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple media initiatives while balancing brand reputation, communication objectives, stakeholder expectations, confidentiality, and business priorities. Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments, with flexibility to support media events, interviews, crisis situations, and executive engagements as required.
