We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA FICO Senior Consultant to join our Center of Excellence (CoE) team supporting SAP S/4HANA landscape. The consultant will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continuously enhancing the existing SAP S/4HANA Finance (FICO) environment – ensuring stable day-to-day operations, timely resolution of incidents, and delivery of functional enhancements aligned with evolving business requirements.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling, strong experience in application support (AMS) and enhancement environments, and the ability to translate business needs into robust, scalable SAP solutions while collaborating closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional SAP teams.
Responsibilities Provide day-to-day functional support for the SAP S/4HANA FICO environment, resolving incidents and service requests within agreed service levels (SLAs). Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and deliver permanent corrective actions to improve system stability and reduce ticket volumes. Support period-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities, ensuring timely resolution of finance-related issues. Gather, analyse, and document enhancement and change requirements from Finance and Controlling business stakeholders. Design and configure enhancements across GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, and Controlling (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Margin Analysis). Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and adoption of new S/4HANA Finance innovations and Fiori applications. Prepare functional specifications for enhancements, RICEFW objects, and custom developments, and review them with the technical (ABAP) team. Configure and unit-test SAP FICO settings in line with SAP best practices and internal design and governance standards. Maintain accurate configuration and functional design documentation within the Center of Excellence. Ensure seamless integration of FICO with MM, SD, and other SAP components, as well as with tax engines and third-party / peripheral systems. Coordinate with cross-functional CoE teams to resolve integration issues and validate end-to-end business processes. Support finance master data governance and reconciliation across finance-relevant objects. Prepare and execute test scenarios and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for enhancements and changes. Follow established change and release management processes, ensuring proper approvals and controlled transports to production. Support regression testing for SAP Notes, support packs, and system upgrades.
Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of experience in SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO), including at least one full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation and subsequent support / enhancement. Proven experience in application support (AMS) and enhancement environments, including incident, problem, and change management. Strong functional expertise across GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting, and Controlling (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Margin Analysis / CO-PA). Hands-on experience with the SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New Asset Accounting, and period-end closing processes. Strong configuration skills across SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling. Knowledge of SAP Tax configuration and integration with tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or SAP Tax Service). Experience preparing functional specifications and working with ABAP teams on RICEFW / custom developments. Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps, S/4HANA Finance innovations, and integration with MM and SD.
