A leading group of Hospitals and Clinics in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology (IT) to lead its technology function and drive digital innovation across clinical and corporate operations. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a forward-thinking IT executive with a strong healthcare background and a proven track record in managing complex IT environments, digital transformation programs, cybersecurity, and healthcare information systems.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy in alignment with business objectives. Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience. Provide strategic technology guidance to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Establish and maintain IT governance, policies, and best practices.
IT Infrastructure & Operations
Oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and end-user support. Ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security of all technology systems. Manage IT vendors, contracts, and service delivery standards.
Healthcare Systems Management
Lead the implementation, optimization, and integration of Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), ERP platforms, and clinical applications. Partner with clinical and operational leaders to deliver technology-enabled solutions. Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and interoperability across systems.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Develop and maintain robust cybersecurity frameworks and disaster recovery plans. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy requirements, and industry standards. Identify and mitigate technology-related risks across the organization.
Team & Financial Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team. Manage IT budgets, technology investments, and resource planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation.
Qualifications & Experience Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience
Minimum 12–15 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Previous experience within a hospital, healthcare, or highly regulated environment is strongly preferred. Deep understanding of healthcare applications, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture.
