Job Details

  • At least 3 years' experience as a crawler crane operator, preferred in pilling or foundation projects.

  • With a valid UAE Heavy Vehicle driving license for crawler crane.

  • Operate crawler cranes, free-fall cranes, vibro hammers, and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure crane operations comply with the approved lifting plan and project requirements.

  • Follow all instructions issued by the Site Engineer, Foreman, Lifting Supervisor, and Project Management.

Equipment Knowledge

  • Understand the operating condition and suitability of the assigned crane before commencing work.

  • Carry out daily pre-start inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.

  • Possess sufficient maintenance knowledge to perform routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, lubrication, and minor maintenance without relying on a mechanic for every issue.

  • Immediately report major defects or unsafe conditions.

Load Chart Knowledge

  • Be able to read and interpret crane load charts.

  • Understand crane capacity, boom configuration, lifting radius, and safe working load.

  • Never exceed the crane's rated capacity.

Sheet Piling Operations

  • Understand the correct method of installing sheet piles using a vibro hammer.

  • Maintain verticality and alignment during driving.

  • Recognize misalignment or refusal conditions and take appropriate corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with the survey team to maintain the required tolerances.

Casing Installation

  • Perform casing installation using a vibro hammer while maintaining correct alignment.

  • Identify difficulties during penetration such as obstructions, hard strata, or casing deviation.

  • Apply appropriate corrective measures to maintain safe and accurate installation.

Reinforcement Cage Lifting

  • Understand the correct lifting sequence for long reinforcement cages.

  • Determine the required number of lifting points based on cage length and weight.

  • Ensure proper lifting, turning, and erection procedures to prevent cage deformation.

Vibro Compaction

  • Understand the sequence of vibro compaction operations.

  • Follow the approved penetration depth, extraction rate, and compaction sequence.

  • Maintain the required grid pattern and spacing according to project specifications.

Stone Columns

  • Understand the difference between:

  • Vibro Compaction

  • Vibro Replacement (Stone Columns)

  • Follow the correct installation sequence for each method.

Dynamic Compaction

  • Understand the sequence of dynamic compaction operations.

  • Know the required drop height, drop pattern, number of blows, and energy requirements.

  • Understand both manual and automatic free-fall systems.

  • Dynamic Replacement

  • Understand the difference between:

  • Dynamic Compaction

  • Dynamic Replacement

  • Execute the work according to the approved methodology.

RIC (Rapid Impact Compaction)

  • Understand hammer alignment requirements.

  • Know the operation of automatic hammer systems.

  • Monitor hammer performance during operation.

Equipment Assembly & Dismantling

  • Participate in the assembly, dismantling, mobilization, and demobilization of cranes and associated equipment.

  • Follow approved procedures during assembly and dismantling.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company HSE procedures.

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections.

  • Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are identified.

  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Maintain a professional attitude and good working relationship with colleagues.

  • Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, riggers, and lifting personnel.

  • Follow instructions from the Site Engineer and Foreman without unauthorized deviations.

Shift Requirements

  • Be willing to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and overtime based on project requirements.

  • Candidates who are unwilling to work night shifts will not be considered.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Valid crane operator license applicable to the country of operation.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating cranes on piling, foundation, or ground engineering projects.

  • Experience with crawler cranes, vibro hammers, free-fall cranes, and heavy lifting operations.

  • Good understanding of lifting plans, load charts, and safe lifting practices.

  • Required Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of crane operations and equipment maintenance.

  • Ability to read and understand crane load charts.

  • Experience in sheet piling, casing installation, reinforcement cage lifting, vibro compaction, stone columns, dynamic compaction, dynamic replacement, and RIC operations.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Safety-conscious with strong problem-solving ability.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and project locations.
